The Rossoneri have been unable so far to find a proper replacement for their injured captain Montolivo. Although Riccardo Montolivo intends to return to the club in December, AC Milan would aim to strengthen their midfield in the winter.
The Italian giants have lately appeared interested in Brazilian midfielder Lucas Silva. The club was also interested in signing Real player Sami Khedira but following certain conflicts and inability to meet Khedira’s demands, they have shifted their interest to Silva instead.
Silva began his professional career in 2012 by playing against Portuguesa for Cruzeiro. Filippo Inzaghi, AC Milan coach, is impressed by Silva’s performance having followed his games and watched him on DVD. The Rossoneri could however face some tough competition in the race to sign the 21-year-old midfielder. Other clubs such as Real Madrid and Chelsea have shown interest in Silva.
Milan’s offer to Silva is believed to be around 8 million Euros for the time being while that of Cruzeiro, Silva’s current club is said to be at around 10 million Euros. The question is whether that amount would be enough to get Silva to move to San Siro.
Silva himself has affirmed to the press that he would be honored to play for Real Madrid, therefore AC Milan’s chances of signing him are not absolute. Whatever be the club he decides to transfer to, Silva will certainly impress with his defensive play and great range of passing. Silva’s performance is expected to improve with the years.
