Arsenal midfielder, Mesut Ozil is struggling to get back to fitness with his knee still in braces after the injury that he sustained earlier this month in a match against Chelsea. Ozil and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger got the shocking news about Ozil’s “serious knee injury” several days after the injury was sustained when examined by a medical staff of the German national team. This knee injury was sustained at Stamford Bridge in a match against Chelsea.
This knee injury has eliminated all chances for Ozil to play first league team football anytime soon in 2014, but the player is anxious about showing his supporters that he is doing his best to keep fit while he heals from his knee injury. The 26 year old German champion recently sent a picture of himself on Twitter while he was working out in a gym.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has not yet put any timescale with regards to Ozil’s knee recovery and insists that the delay in detecting the gravity of the knee injury cannot be attributed as a fault from Arsenal’s medical staff. Wenger will follow the opinion and recommendations of his own specialists.
The crisis surrounding midfield Ozil has been attenuated in the past weeks with the return to fitness of Arsenal players Mikel Arteta and Aaron Ramsey. Theo Walcott is also pledging for a return to Premier League during the team’s home game against Burnley. One of Wenger’s bigger injury issue is that of full-back player Kieran Gibbs who has sustained a hip problem.
