Inter should not miss out on European football again, reveals Icardi

Given Inter’s perfect start to the season, Icardi says that they must book in Europe for next season. His words come as a result of winning all five matches so far in the Serie A season.

In speaking with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Icardi said, “It’s fantastic. Being up at the top above all helps us to be more serene during the week, and this helps us a lot.”

The last time Inter enjoyed such form was under Mourinho in 2010 who led them to a treble. He also says that with 10 new players in the team, they’ve focused on building a great new group.

He also believes that they will get better with time and are yet to play their best football. While Inter are getting a lot of possession, there’s still some way to go in order to “raise the bar”. Being quicker along with aggression is also necessary, according to him.

Securing third place is the minimum place for Inter since they have made a number of big investments. For this reason, they cannot to stay for another season without European football.

As they meet Fiorentina shortly, a win could ensure a gap of 13 points between them and Juventus – Serie A’s defending champions.

He mentioned this by saying that everyone is definitely surprised seeing the Bianconeri in the second half of the table too.

Of course, he speaks of Inter’s desire to start strongly but also stated that they didn’t expect to do this well. Yet without a doubt, he (and the club) feel ‘great’ to be up there.
